Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 30th. At 6:30PM we will have a classic Hanging of the Greens service (30 minutes) in the sanctuary, followed by a chili supper in the fellowship hall.
Hanging of the Greens is an opportunity to put up the tree, set out the Advent candles, assemble the nativity scene, hang the garland and wreaths, and prepare the church for the season of Advent. The worship service that coincides with this festivity is a way of bringing about transformation in our worship space and preparing our hearts for the season. This tradition is rich in liturgy, music, symbolism, and significance.
To assist with Hanging of the Greens prior to the service, contact Nancy Glasgow or simply come and join us. We will need help moving items and decorating for Christmas. The preliminary work will begin at 5:00PM on the 30th. We invite you to come to the worship service at 6:30PM and bring a chili to share for after worship. Let’s kick-off Advent together in the spirit of Christ. Invite your neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
Ornament making and cookie decorating for children of all ages will be at 6PM. Free Advent calendars for everyone who attends.
