Early Intervention. Model & Demonstration Site. Replication.
Comprehensive Intervention Using Evidence-Based Strategies
Early Foundation is a model demonstration program for toddlers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) which provides comprehensive intervention using evidence-based strategies, primarily from the field of applied behavior analysis.
This unique project began in October 2007 at it’s original site, to address the importance of intensive intervention as soon as a child receives a diagnosis or shows at risk for having ASD and to provide these services in a developmentally appropriate setting that includes access to typical peers.
Children who are participating in this program receive a combination of services that are designed to meet the individual needs of the child. A unique aspect of this model is that it is located in a community early learning environment. As part of serving the youngest children with ASD, Early Foundations is partnered with Shawnee Public Schools and the Pup Pack, which offers to the community an inclusive daycare program for the children of SPS teachers and employees. Because of this unique partnership, children with ASD are able to participate in preschool activities and games with their peers.
Early Foundations launched it’s Shawnee site at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in the fall of 2019

Early Foundations
May 11, 2022 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

Fiber Arts Community
May 19, 2022 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Shawnee St. Paul's hosts the Fiber Arts Community (the group formerly known as the Prayer Shawl Ministry) on campus twice a month. The Fiber Arts Community meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 2:00pm (until 3:30pm).
We are open to anyone interested in knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, doll making etc. We make stuff, like prayer shawls, to give to people in need of comforting. We also share patterns and ideas for projects. We also can help members learn how to work with yarn and/or other material.
Membership is for anyone in our congregation (and their friends) who is interested.
Questions? Call (or text) Hyale Smith - 405-568-7875 or leave a message at the church office at 405-273-0982.

Early Foundations
Early Foundations
May 20, 2022 6:00 am - 3:00 pm
