Galatians 5:13-26

Thoughts for reflection:  Verse 5:4 says, “For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”  You can see how this theme is present throughout Galatians by looking back to your reflection from Wednesday.  Paul is trying to get us to see how Jesus changed everything to the point that our faith no longer consists of a numerous list of prohibitions telling us everything we cannot do, but now we are to understand everything in the proactive light of loving neighbor. With this understanding in mind, it is easy to see how it follows that those actions, which facilitate relationships and connect us wholly and healthily are praised and those that do not are admonished.

When you look at the list of behaviors which are prohibited, what thoughts does this bring to your mind?  Where do you see these in your life?  What about with the fruits of the Spirit?  Where do you see those?  What would you have to do to be more loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, generous, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled?  What are you willing to do to make this happen?  What will you do to make this happen?
