1st Corinthians 1:18-31
Thoughts for reflection: If there were significant differences in education and social status among the Corinthians, it is easy to understand why Paul raises the points he does in these verses. It is not that one group is smarter/better than the others so that they might laud it over them, but true wisdom comes from Jesus Christ. Not only that, but what the world thought was foolish, a king being willing to be executed, has turned out to be the wisest thing of all. Paul tries to explain to them that Jesus is the great equalizer of all. How do you understand this? How have you seen this in your life?
