Philippians 1:3-11

Thoughts for reflection:  What a blessing it must have been to the people of Philippi to hear these words about them from Paul.  When Paul wrote this letter, he was well into his ministry and had already faced many disappointments, setbacks, and even persecutions.  To have a community who had heard the message of Jesus he was proclaiming, and embrace it, was a welcome relief. What is interesting is these people were new to this faith, which was still very closely tied to Judaism, whereas communities which had larger Jewish-Christian populations generally struggled.

What do you think it is that makes it easier for people brand new to something to adopt change more easily while those well versed in it often have difficulty in adapting?  How well do you adapt to change?  What about when this change affects your beliefs?
